All.
I have severe headaches about 90-120 minutes after going to sleep. This will happen every night for several weeks and then go away for a month or so. The pain is always in the same spot (left side of my head/forehead) This has gone on for around 10 years during which time I have been prescribed the following: Ergotamine, Inderal, Elavil, many different NSAID drugs, Bellergal-S, Valium, and a host of others. Ergot preparations will abort a headache but it will recur after another hour or so. My nose runs horribly, my left eye waters, I march around the house at night moaning and occasionally hitting my head on the walls. I've had a CAT scan and it's normal, my BP is 120/80, in fact, everything seems strangely normal for a guy that wanders around beating his head on the walls. The lack of sleep is getting to me, after eating 400mg of caffiene and taking a cold shower I can't sleep. It also seems that the more run-down I get (from the lack of sleep) the more frequent the headaches get. I get them occasionally during the day, but not as often. The doctors are not helpful at ALL, they seem to just guess and try a new medicine. Anyway, I came across this web-site by accident and some of the descriptions sound like what I have. Can anyone tell me what I have and make ANY kind of ggestion on what I can do? The ergotamine preparations are killing me slowly.
