Well, call me nuts but I now believe toxic chemicals used in our everyday lives have a lot to do with CH. I remember a post where a guy said walking down the supermarket aisle with all the detergents and bleach can set him off with an attack.
(I too have always felt overwhelmed by the strong smells there.)
Recently I came across a lot of information on the chemicals that we use everyday, even in our clothing, furniture, especially carpet, cleaners, and on and on.
I have thought about all my bouts, all the cycles, and each time I was living in a very synthetic type environment, i.e. new carpet, formeldehyde permeated bedding (all of the foam in mattresses are loaded with it and other junk like fire retardants), pressboard furniture, new car smelling stuff, ALL OF THIS STUFF IS TOXIC, and I believe it to be an explanation why we all get CH during sleep on these chemical laced beds. I will leave you guys with a couple or URLs to check out, as for me, I am almost convinced that CH is caused by overload of chemicals, they build up and the body just can't filter them anymore.
See the third link, the doctor mentions vasculitis and hypothyroidism as related to chemical exposure. Yeah, it isn't a clear connection, but I just feel it makes a lot of sense. By the way, I am an ex-smoker, and cigarettes were always a trigger, and guess what? They are soaked with a lot of chemicals. Start drawing your own connections.
Citrus wax has been exposed as a dangerous chemical-(citrus is a trigger). What others are there? I'll bet there is a chemical connection.
Happy research, hope it helps.
