I do not know if you read my post explaining things
to another board member in "layman's" terms. I
do not mean this in an smart alec way. What I mean
is that if each process has a "lock" each different,
but the body produces one substance (master key) in
large quantities. Subsequently, that agent (5-HT)
is distributed throughout the body via blood flow...
every door (organ) with a lock that fits the master
key...will then open...and chaos!!!!
All those bodily functions have several things in common.
One of them is 5-HT receptor involvement. This may
explain why we experience allergic like reactions
(eye tearing, nostril running shut), G.I upset
nausea, etc, temperature variations, sleep cycle disruption
etc..etc...when we are experiencing a CH attack = Chaos!!!
Of course, not every CH sufferer experiences the same
bodily symptoms outside the excruciating orbital
region pain.
