If you look at the hypothalamus you will see that the pituitary lies immediately beneath it. The two share vascular connections, and hypothalamic hormones control the secretion of hormones from the anterior pituitary. When the hypothalamus is being discussed I automatically include the pituitary as they share some functions
PS: I scanned the article but couldn't find mention of posterior hypothalamus. Is it mentioned in this article, or did I misunderstand?
