I haven't even heard of CH...up until I was researching a idea of my headaches and came upon this site..not too long ago. I just had a doctors appointment in which I explained my headaches to. He almost immediatly said "classic cluster headache symptoms" he then admitted he didnt have many patients with them. He then had to look into a "Book" to see the dosage and prescriptions. He then prescribed to me Verapamil 4x a day ?
And another drug....to which he didn't give me yet, AND...said first I had to take a Stress Test...even to determine if I could take this 2nd drug? (sorry cant recall the name of that one)
Now..these headaches are bad and during one I probably would swallow red hot thumb tacks..if I thought it would work.. but the idea of taking a stress test...just to determine if I can take this other drug or not..doesn't sit well. I told the doctor that also, and he mentioned that even just taking the test, would not hurt anyway. And we could discuss the other drug then. Does anyone take JUST the verapamil? and does it alone have any effect?
