I think that there are some doctors who do care. My doctor all along has encouraged me to come back if one thing doesn't work and has acknowledged my pain. He is a general practitioner, too. But he seems to actually keep up fairly well on what is the latest. But I have personal knowledge of other doctors who seem to view pain as an annoyance and do not seem to "get" that this kind of pain is more than a mere annoyance.
I guess we need to shop as carefully for our doctors as we do for our cars!
And I like your comments, Simon. I have a friend from the UK who has the same questions about Americans and guns.
