IMHO, there is probably no connection between smoking and clusters. Yes, many, if not most, sufferers may smoke but, I think CH'ers are prone to addictions more than non-CH'ers. Many of us have sin-type addictions, smoking, drinking, drugs, etc. Others have addictions to less harmful things such as (including but not limited to) religion, jobs, sun tanning, eating meat, eating veggies, eating ice cream, our pets, washing your hands or posting at this web site.
It's just something in our hypothingie part of the brain that connects addicts to clusterheadaches.
