In evaluating how many get help from oxygen we obviously must disregard those who are only checking the statistics and those who never tried it, so we have to consider:
6.6% helps always
22.0% most of the time
16.9% some times
12.3% does not work
giving a sum of 57.8% of all respondents who have tried oxygen.
From this we get:
helps always: 6.6 / 57.8 = 11.4%
most of the time (or better): 28.6 / 57.8 = 49.5%
some times (or better): 45.5 / 57.8 = 78.7%
does not help at all: 12.3 / 57.8 = 21.3%
So the number of a 70% success rate for oxygen in (modern) literature is consistent with the numbers of this poll: it lies between the 49.5% who have success most of the time or always and the 78.7% who have success sometimes or better.
What really saddens me are the 32.4 / 90.2 = 35.9% of the respondents that have never tried oxygen :-(
From these 100, there would be 79 who would get relieve sometimes (or better) if they ever tried it, GO FOR OXYGEN!!!
