My husband was on lithium for a while, it was like a living nightmare, he acted drunk all the time walking into walls, slurring his words, he's a smoker and sometimes he would drop them and burn things, his reaction time was almost null, he would get angry at the stupidest things, and as for driving, theres no-way I would let him drive, he could barely walk, and guess what he does for a living, he's a truck driver, needless to say he missed alot of work. I would tell him in the morning how he was the day before, the things he said and did, you know he couldn't even remember, he thought I was nuts. I was not the only one noticeing this, our kids and everyone around us started asking me whats he on, is he drunk, well he finally got off it and things are much better, they have since put him on verapamil, which so far so good.Please listen to what your wife tells you about how you act while on this she knows you best.
