I hold the bag check valve closed until the bag is full then inhale the entire amount and hold it until the bag fills again. Taking real deep breathes helps to use every part of your lungs to absorb the oxygen. I depend upon the elastic strap to a tight mask fit, I don't fall asleep that easily.
There has been many deaths related to contaminated tanks and this is a strong issue with me as I did take O2 from a contaminated tank just once. With near 100% O2 any impurity is far more active and it only takes ppm or ppb to cause severe misery if not death. The web pages are loaded with such occurances.
