I've had DHE-45 break the cycle several times and have been on it q8hrs several times to keep the HAs at bay while I got some rest. It works best IV, but can be injected IM (feels like battery acid and leaves knots in your butt, but better than the pain of the HA). Cafagot works for me with the pain of the HAs.
Sorry the Topamax didn't work. It's been the only thing that has ever worked as a preventative with me. But most of the people I've talked to didn't take a large enough dose to do any good. Right now I'm on 300mg a day and have been up as high as 400mg. My neuro says you have to take enough to do some good. But there are side effects.
