First of all, know that you are not alone in what you're going through. I'm a cluster supporter too and my hubby has reached his final frustration in visiting doctors too.
That eye thing that your husband is going through is scary. That's not real common amongst sufferers. The exhaustion is, however, and maybe Dramamine OR Benadryl might get him some much needed sleep. You don't need a prescription for either.
Has he tried using ice to help him get through attacks? I keep three of those gel-filled deals in the freezer at all times. They never really quite freeze and I put one in a cloth gift back and Mike lays it directly on the back of his neck at the onset - it helps him to stay calm.
How about oxygen? Is he using that? Again, used at the onset, it helps a lot of people. In a desparate moment, we got some welders oxygen (after I called Poison Control to make sure it's ok) and it has been a big help for him.
Finally, check out the alternative treatment that is helping some people here - press the link below to learn more about it and PLEASE feel free to email me if I can help. My husband has done this treatment twice now and his remission is now 23 months long - his longest ever!! If your hubby wants to try it, though - he will have to try to detox from the meds first.
And, your comment about not being able to watch him go through this pain hit home for me. It's so hard and i totally understand what you're going through.
Hugs
