Hi folks
Well it's been a long time since i have visited this site to long actually.
I'm am a cronic sufferer almost on a daily basis. the days i don't get one i normally get 2 the next day so no real day off and have had up to 6 per day for a few weeks every now and again just to really mess me up.
Anyways on to the topic. I am currently a member of the Canadian armed forces and applied a year or so ago for a pension for a crushed finger from a tour in kosovo, and under advise of veterans affairs my cluster headaches. so finally i got a letter in the mail the other day that i have been approved for both.of course i must go see their doctors to be assesed to determine just how badly i suffer so they can say how much i will recieve.
Also some info that may or may not have made a difference in why i got it was because i was officially declared a cluster headache sufferer while on tour in bosnia 97 and from what i understand is the main reason i am getting the pension even though i suffered with them before going it wasn't official.
here is what is written: Chronic Cluster Headaches is pensionable under subsection 21(1) of the pension act, service in a special duty area (bosnia),effective 16 february 2000 under subsection 39 (1) of the same act.
This may help some people out and it may not. i posted this because i remember some people in both the U.S. and canadian military had concerns about this a long time ago and i am sure still do.I wanted to inform people that it is possible to attain a pension but it may not be easy.i may have been in just the right place at the right time to make it possible for me.
