Being chronic, with night time attacks only, I take a 2.5 mg Naratriptan (Amerge / Naramig) tablet before bed time and get usually through the night without an attack, and the break troughs are easily aborted by oxygen.
Taking Triptans as a preventative, I think Naratriptan should be preferred over Sumatriptan (Imitrex), since it has a much longer half life time (about 4 to 6 hours).
