Your response was right on the money.
Any critical thinker should also not rule out the possibility that there is a tendency ( statistically significant ) for cluster sufferers to be prone to any number of diseases ( alcoholism, addictions, depression, etc.).
Serotonin ( sleep and mood regulator ) is strongly implicated in clusters. The drug of choice for treating depression are SSRIs - SEROTONIN Reuptake Inhibitors - drugs such as Zoloft and others that increase the efficiency of serotonin. Alcoholism is often an attempt for a depressed person to self-medicate.
I can only speak for myself but I have had clusters for 29 years, I am moody as hell and I used to drink to excess on a regular basis.
