I am writing to anyone out there that can relate to cluster headaches. I am the wife of a man who suffers from these monsters. My husband has had clusters for about 25 yrs. now, and he is now 42. There seems to be no end to them and he usually gets them around mid fall to spring and last around 6to 8 weeks. The headaches them selves last anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hrs and come about every 2 hrs, ranging from 5 to 8 of these attacks aday. When I see him having one of these headaches, I feel soooooo helpless. He has been on every type of medicine there is and the only thing that he has found that works on them is the imitrex shot. The doctor that my husband is seeing now does not understand how bad they are and its so frustrating to try and explain to them just how bad they are. I wish he could be in my husband shoes just once and then he would understand.
I could not believe it when I saw this about cluster headaches on the net and that there r people out there that, from reading their stories and comenting on how bad they r, it was like they were reading my thoughts, the wifes stories that is. My husband could not believe it when he read some of the stories from CH suffers, that a sence of relif came over him that someone out there really could relate to him and know what he is going thru... Thank u sooooo much for this place of what I would call a god send that we know now that were not alone, for the cluster headaches sufferes and the spouce who has to watch the one we love go thru this.
