We are defective. A part of our brains is wired differently from that of normal folks. Fortunately, it is a part that seems to have nothing to do with the higher brain functions.
I wish I could remember who it was who posted something like:
"It is important to remember that the headaches themselves cause no physical damage. The way we react to them does."
Banging heads with telephone receivers, jamming rolled up towels into an eye socket, gobbling handfuls of various drugs, trying to drive a car while screaming in agony... all of these activities bear significant risks.
Clusters suck.
