but that wasn't always very bad. My eye got red and the area surronding it got very warm. Blood is culprit, either from some futile attempt by our system (which only makes it worse) and the dilation of the vessel. A real Catch 22.
Try diverting blood away from your head. Stand in cold water, concrete, or exert your muscles so blood has to carry oxygen to the area and possibly lessen the pressure in the affected vessel. You could also try the circulatory technique I describe just below. It works for some, but is somewhat exhausting.
This in many ways sounds like clusters. See a neurologist soon and eliminate other possibities.
