I was following that link posted by anonymous further down. It provides pharmacological information on Ergot Alkaloids. It also describes how they can be used to treat migraine.
One useful snippet that I was never fully aware of before, is that caffiene actually aids the absorbtion of ergot alkaloids. Previously I thought that Ergotamine and Caffiene were combined into Cafergot tablets because Caffiene also acts as a vacular constrictor. Thinking about it that's pretty naive. Caffiene's vascualr constricting properties are negligible next to Ergotamine. Mixing the two for that reason is analogous to dipping a bullet in chilli sauce.
Given that caffiene aids the absorbtion of Ergot Alkaloids, then this almost certainly includes LSD. Now I sincerely doubt that caffiene is specifically targeted at Ergot compounds, so it may also work on other hallucinogens.
In light of this information it may be worth drinking a strong cup of ground or filter coffee alongside the hallucinogen of your choice. This includes mushrooms.
