verapamil and ch

I know I keep asking the same type of questions, but here goes.
Kens been on the verapamil and his blood pressure is staying skyrocketed. 168/98 to 175/113
Its not going down.
He is staying dizzy and about 1/2 nauseaous. (sp?)
He is luckily only haveing 1 or 2 ch a day and has skipped a day here and there, just gets the stinging in his jaw and the roof of his mouth feels scalded.
He had a wall-banger last night though.
Did the Imitrex inj and rode it out. The Imitrex is a blessing but doesn't always knock out the pain.

I know that pain will cause BP to rise, but shouldn't it fall sometimes?

Anyone out there experienceing this? Or know about it?
