My daughter is cronic, been in a cycle since Oct. 00, went through 3 nero. and many medications, finally found a great nero. who put her in hospital for intra-venous DHE and some other drug which stopped the headache (in hosptial for 5 days). The headaches returned about a week after being release from the hospita. He had also put her on TOPAMAX, at first it did nothing but the doc. told us to stay with it for 6 weeks, well right at six weeks the headaches which were now 5 to 6 daily with at least 3 being a 10, went away, she has now been on Topamax for 3 month and is headache free, no shadows, the drugs only side effect has been a small amount of memory loss, like forgetting what she was about to do, this seems to happen once or twice a week, she also had the shakes the first few weeks but that is gone now. She says that on a couple of morining she would wake up and feel weak but that only last for a few minutes. Good luck , I know this drug has been a life saver for her but I do not know if it will work the same for your husband. That is the only med. she is taking now. My prayers go out to you and your husband.
