I was put on Procardia to try and break my CH cycle here. First night I took it, bam, trip to the ER. Bumped up to the next level to build up the total I was taking, wham, another trip to the ER. Bumped one last time to the final level, and I felt things going absolutely hellish. Called Dr. Raskin, my neuro in San Francisco, he told me to stop on the Procardia immediately, sometimes the drugs can have an opposite from desired effect. As it ended up, I finished out that day at the ER again, third time in one week. Took 20mg of morphine to bring the last one down to a bearable level of pain, didn't even break the HA. The best description I have been given is that everybody is NOT exactly the same, body chemistry changes slightly from one person to the next, so not all drugs work on all people. My CH are so bad that nothing has been found yet to break more than one individual attack, the cycle keeps coming.
