big grin here
back in the fall I found the same article & went to work
first I made a chillde/moisturized air inhaler (actually a giant 2 gal. waterpipe filled with ice water, for you old hippies - some things you remember forever)
that was a fiasco - and the air was about 40 deg
pulled the 1/2 ID plastic tube off that & started sticking it way inside the freezer compartment, shoving it in the CH side nostril & snorting the 0 degree air - that numbed the sinus region pretty good for a while - but didn't keep the headache from spreading, so as it attacked my upper face & scalp, I couldn't stay at the freezer, and then when my frostbitten sinus started to thaw it was worse
TECHNICALLY there is validity to this -
colder air is denser, and has more o2 molecules per liter (at equal pressure, gas laws & all that good HS chem stuff)
however -
I did the math once, and believe it's all in their mind
but doubt it has more than a slight effect on the head
I live in Maine & often have my clusters in late fall into winter
many times have stood on the porch at zero degrees in middle of night
it is more tolerable than inside in the heat, but never really stopped an attack -
another good coping tool though
keep thinking & good luck !!!!!
