Hi Cathy - My post to which you responded was also
*my* first posting on the wonderful bbs. So, thanks
for your response!
Ah, Imitrex ... when one discovers just how
quickly a shot can remove the headache pain, one
cannot go back to being naive. I remember my
so-to-speak "good old days" when I only knew of
Oxygen, and it worked almost every time. So now,
I *try not to take it*, at least right away, in
order to not abuse the intake of that drug. But
there's no way. The tabs don't work: too slow; the
nasal spray is actually pretty good for me, once
I learned that it takes 15-20 minutes to take
effect. So if I'm already awake, like in the day,
I'll go with the spray. But for the ones that
wake me up? Hell with it: right to the injection!
I glad for you that it works so well.
And I'm very glad you had a "best in awhile" day. And
you nailed it about the CHs being able to take
over your life and that of your family. That's
why I asked Lee M about the "pain management".
Here I am the other night, pacing, crying, screaming,
pounding the walls, cold rag pressed into my eye,
somehow *thinking* about "pain management" ... I
need to learn how to manage this, or myself during
this.
Though I understand your comment about "migraine",
let's face it: migraine sufferers are fellow
sufferers in pain. What *really* gets me is how
many *doctors* don't know squat about our type of
headaches. There the one's who I wanna spit at!
Or maybe go have a headache on their front lawn.
Finally, with regard to your comments about this
website, yes, it is truly wonderful to be able to
share info, anecdotes, prayers, and support with
the many folks who are tortured by this partiular
disposition of our heads! I just start crying when
I read what any of you have to share, since I am
enduring something so similar.
Cathy, feel free to e-mail or post any time.
