Hi, Stadol is definitely a potent drug. The DEA does not monitor it as closely as others but it is a drug that makes some docs alittle paranoid. It can be easily abusive....which is the concern.
I use Stadol when my abortives fail. It is a way to attempt to control your pain and avoid emergency room (expensive and unproductive) visits. It is definitely first line therapy. It does help...can help many of us chronics maintain some control and dignity. Again, many docs do not have good training in pain management; let alone headache management.
