Anyone using the injections knows that the insurance Co's don't want to pay for them. This past cycle was my first using them, and it was the same story. First, it allowed for 6 injections in a 30 day period, and my nuero's office put in a claim to up it. The ins. Co came back and upped it to 8 in 30 days, which obviously is still not enough, so my nurse at The Headache Center filed a grievance with them. They held a meeting, and based on my nuero's recommendation, they now allow for 60 injections in 30 days! The point is, we pay for insuraance just like everyone else, and we have the right to the meds we need. Don't just accept that it's too expensive, or that the insurance company doesn't cover it. Fight for it, it worked for me.
Also, the help my docs gave really made the difference here. When being cared for by the right people, a clusterhead can win the little battles like this.
I'm going to harp on this forever, but if you're a clusterhead, and you are not seeing a headache specialist, you are robbing yourself. Take Care!
