By the number of hit on this site, it is clear that there are many many more lurkers out there than posters. That is all right with me, I too lurk on many sites without ever contributing to them. The more I'm pleased, if one of them lurkers comes forward, showing he's done his lurking efficiently by posting a valuable contribution or asking an educated question. Not so pleased are we with newbies, that without any further look at the site, drop a question that has been answered just 2 days ago, but the dedication of the regulars can bear with them.

In the plant and animal kingdoms individuals that live upon what others provide, without giving anything back, are called parasites. I can understand that some people don't want to be reminded of CH during remission. But if they on coming back shout "here I am again, tell me what's new (and BTW I'm proud not being a member of OUCH)", they must not be surprised if they receive something less than a warm welcome. It is overstretching the patience of many, when the parasites start insulting the host. Where the hell do they get the right from to criticize the regulars who keep the board running. If they contribute nothing than slandering those how contribute that what they are looking for, not regularly posting about CH related topics to skew the board in a direction of their liking, they better remain in their lurking position.

Ok, some people take their time to join the community. How often was I tempted to post a nasty replay to the first posts of M. or j.? But they made it, and I believe L. is on a good way too. But for D. there is no hope, just bickering and no positive contribution, the board would be better off if he just got lost again.

Stepping off the soap box,
Ueli
