Any one ever have nerve block?...When shoud it start to work.

I just had one yesterday, my neuro said it would buy me a week of relief if (it worked) until the increase in my preventatives started to help. So far nerve block not helping. The nerve block was several injections of novicaine and cordisone in the back of the head. Five days after the nerve block I start a 8 day prednisone taper to give me a total of about a 15 day jump on preventatives increase working. I'm chronic 2 1\2 years and have been this route before but this is the 1st time I've had the nerve block, any input on nerve blocks please.
