I recently found out that we have a lengthy family history of hypothyroidism or low thyroid in my family. I am curious about other clusterheads that know of a problem they have with the thyroid or may have some of the following symptoms. I do not know if I have hypothyroidism but as soon as I get my health insurance back, I'm going to find out. The following are common symptoms most of which I have.
Do you:
Have cold hands and feet?
Low Sex Drive?
Depression?
Anxiety?
Propensity for panic attacks?
Fatigue?
Thinning hair?
Problems with concentration?
Memory difficulties?
I know that these symptoms can mean many different things but I thought it was interesting to point out that the thyroid is directly connected to the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus helps to regulate certain levels of hormone coming from the thyroid. There is even a relatively new finding that says there is an important hormone that may be in short supply with thyroid disorders that is implicated in proper blood vessel dialation. Severe headache have also been implicated with this disease. Check out low thyroid under yahoo search and read some of the articles. I checked the archives for other postings but found very few. Worth a shot.
