Hi,
I have never posted on the board before.
My attacks have just started up again, going on 2 weeks. I have had the headaches for 20 years. Mine began after a carwreck where I lost my left eye and my skull was caved in all over. That may be quite graphic, but I want to let you know what happened because I really believe this was what started my headaches.
I've never spoken to another person on the internet or anywhere that has these headaches. No one I have ever been around understands the real pain of these things. It is great to read that there are people who UNDERSTAND that this really REALLY hurts.
I used to drive myself to the hospital to get shots in the middle of the night ,because I thought I was dying. I didn't want to wake my husband , so would just drive myself.
Anyway, long ago, I read on this website or somewhere about a technique someone used where they applied pressure to pressure points on their head to alleviate the pain. Has anyone else ever tried this and did it work? I have been trying to do this the last few times I have had an attack. It worked really well one night, but never again. In fact, sometimes seems to make the pain worse. I don't know if I am applying pressure in the right spot or not. If anyone has any info on this type of thing, I would really be interested, as I do not have money for medication or hospital shots anymore.
I apologize for writing such a long post-hope I haven't offended anyone. Thanks for being there,Charlene
Also, do you feel like you can't breathe when you are having these? I really feel like I CANNOT breathe and everyone thinks I am crazy.
