My idea about why the psi-tx works on CH and why lsd should also work actually has nothing to do with serotonin or the brain per se. It is much simplier than that. The fundimental difference between psi and lsd and other drugs is that these are psychoactive and the others are not. This means that the drugs work on the mind, rather than on the body. All the chemistry and physiology is really interesting, but irrelevant to the understanding of why these treatments are so effective for CH. All the observed chemistry and physiology are symptoms, effects, trees in the forest. Back up and look at the forest and what do you see, but a pattern that can only be explained in its entirity as being operated by the mind. The reason for the lasting impact of these drugs on the CH condition is that all one needs to do to not have them is to change your (subconsious) mind -- something that the drug provides as a catalyist. That is my working theory.
