....there was a huge storm that dumped so much water that flooding was starting everywhere. An elderly gentleman was sitting on his front porch watching the waters rise. Officials came by and warned him to evacuate before the water got too high. He replied " I'm not worried, the lord will take care of me. "
The water rose higher and higher until it surrounded his entire house. Rescuers came with a boat and tried to get him to climb aboard but he replied " I'm not worried, the lord will take care of me."
The water continued to rise until only the roof of his house was not under water. The old man was sitting on top of his house when a helicopter came and hovered over him, trying to get him to climb in. He replied " I'm not worried, the lord will take care of me."
Finally the water rose so high that it covered the entire house and drowned the poor guy.
When he arrived in heaven he was puzzled. He asked St. Peter " What happened ? I had faith the lord would save me but I drowned anyway."
St. Peter replied " The lord sent someone to warn you about the coming flood, He sent a boat to rescue you, and He sent a helicopter to save you, but you ignored them all. What else did you expect Him to do?"
