Bob:
I think that these people are confusing the therapeutic
use of anti-hypertensives, with that for CH.
Where Ca++ blockers affect transport of the Ca++
molucule at the nerve level, as well as result in
vasodilation, their beneficial effect in CH seems
to be primariliy derived from their effect on
signal transduction at the neural level.
However, ACE inhibitors do not work the same way at all,
as you noted, thus their effects could be very very
detrimental to the CH sufferer since they elicit
vasodilation without affecting ion exchange, either
at the vascular level or neural level.
I am very curious regarding CH sufferers noting
improvements while on ACE inhibitors. It is hardly
believable, yet I think that such is what these people
are suggesting.
