Tom,
Pain will make your pressure go high. Mine usually runs 105/78, but when I'm in the high point of a HA it will go over 140. Also some of the meds (ergotomine for one) will cause about a 20-30 point rise for a while, then it will settle back down.
If I were you tho, I'd keep a check on it just in case. You don't want it to stay high or that could be some more trouble (stoke for one). Verapimil lowers it. You might want to talk to your doctor about something if it stays high. But please, don't take any chances with it - that could be dangerous.
I think Drs. look mostly at "norms". WE have to TELL them when something is unusal for US. Too many people go to drs. and think THEY should know what to do, but I've found out, that just ain't the case. Don't ever be afraid to TELL your dr. when you even THINK something is wrong with YOU. After all, they're only human too.
So far we haven't had any miracle cures, but we're opimistic and KNOW someday, someone will come up with a cause and cure for these demons. Until then, stay tuned to this site for the latest news in CH.
Hugs BD
