I have a chronic hive condition that currently is undiagnosed. I take Allegra daily to help w/itching, and Benadryl at night. Recently I had a severe attack for about a week, called my GP, who put me on Prednisone 3 tabs dailyx3days, 2xdaily for 3, then 1tab daily for 5 days. Never was informed of any side effects though I asked. Some I have experienced are, profuse sweating, immediate bloating and weight gain, feeling "out of control, and one night I almost went into a rage. I went into the shower and cried instead. Last night I got up to pee every hour for 6 hours straight, and today involuntarily urinated in my pants without realizing I was even going. I thought I was crazy, so I went to the nearest pharmacy where the pharmacist there said "oh yeah, prednisone is one of the worst meds for the realm of side effects it carries. Confirming that I'm not crazy helps, but it still doesn't take them away. Although the hives are currently gone, I intend to look into another alternative for long term use.
