The thought occurs that US-based CH-hosts could form a bona fide group for insurance coverage purposes. The group plan could cover treatment for CH-only; a special-supplemental type policy.
The insurance company would work to minimize costs by referrals to only doctors truly qualified to work with CH.
It seems like this would make the system work for us, rather than let the system manipulate us for its own benefit.
Of course, one would have to find a willing insurance company, but there are sure to be one-or two that would take on the risk. It might also be feasible for the CH Foundation to underwrite some or all of the additional premimum in return for patient participation in the CH study group.
If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll start to put those wheels in motion.
