Hi, I'm new to the site and I've just been scanning messages, medical data, and other info. I have some questions and comments that do not seem to be addressed on the web site.
1) I live in Toronto. The weather here has been rather damp and temperatures have fluctuated wildly on a weekly basis. I've begun a new run of clusters after a 4 year haitus. My doctor tells me that many of his cluster patients are also reporting incidents.
My personal history consists of 6-week episodes between June and December every 3 years. So in a sense, I'm overdue by one year.
Does anybody else have a similar pattern or know of several cases occuring together?
2)I've seen several remedies for clusters on this site. But I haven't run across Cafergot. I used Cafergot with Prednisone for effective relief during my last two episodes. I'm trying it out during my current episode, which began 2 days ago, and will see if it's still effective. If you haven't tried it and nothing else seems to work, consider giving it a shot.
3) My dad, who used to work in the insurance industry, recalls in internal document possibly stating that clusters can lead to permanent brain injury. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?
