I tried to get some information out of the patent application you cited.
As everybody knows, this legal parlance is very hard to follow, and when it's used to describe some scientific issues in a field not very familiar, then.....
Anyway, here what I could gather:
Some researchers found a compound that acts as a strong bradykinin antagonist. This bradykinin is synthesized in our body and is a strong vasodilator (not good for a clusterhead) and is spasmogenic for some smooth muscles thereby causing pain (not good for anybody). I don't know if bradykinin has any role in CH and if this newly found antagonist would be of any help.
The carbogene gas (5% CO2, 95% O2) came in as follows: The researchers tested their new compound on rat uterus tissue (in vitro), under an atmosphere of this gas mixture (as it seems a standard procedure).
Therefore, there is no reason to assume that sniffing this mixture could be helpful in any way to abort a CH attack.
