Actually I did see one after my very first cycle.
When hit by the unexplainable, horrendous pain I thought it must be an earache or something acute to hurt that much. Yet it wasn't my ear that hurt, just that side of my head. I finally ended up in the emergency room and was diagnosed with an ear infection. I am not sure I had otitis media, but I did take the antibiotics prescribed. A few weeks later an otolaryngologist (did I get that right?) pronounced my ears in good shape and said my hearing was unusually good for a 43-year old woman. It still is. I may be blind as a bat, but I can practically hear leaves falling - much to my regret. Everyone talks too loudly on the phone.
I *hate* noise! I can hear people turning pages of a magazine from 2 rooms away. I bought headphones for my husband so I would not have to hear the TV. I do not get CH attacks from noise, however.
I think eye doctors (opth...?) should also be very aware of CH and recognize the symptoms if a patient sees him for related eye problems.
We just have to educate *everybody* in order to
help ourselves and those who suffer as yet undiagnosed.
