I nearly wept for joy when I found you. Finally symptoms that agrre with my condition. I've known that I've suffered from some kind of migraine but never before have I found symptoms that so amazingly correspond with mine. I used to have aches that came several times a month, lasted for days and were anything from mild nusances to total anguish. My skull turned to lead on one side, my eye had a pain behind it, a heat. I often woke with a clogged nose. I was not sensitive to sound or light, but extremely sensitive to smells. Restless, pacing, talking. Not very nauseous unless worst kind of attack. Does this sound right? Not all symptoms described fit perfectly, but you mention there are variations. I don't feel like banging my head, I usually wake in the morning with the ache, not right after falling asleep. The pain don't increase immediately, it can be stable for hours or slowly escalate.
I had to diagnose myself. First for migraine, then for Horton's. No doctor seemed knowledgeable or even very interested. A few years back I got Inderal Retard by Zeneca to take every morning. My life transformed. I hadn't truly realized how much my life was ruled by my pain, my unability to think. Now I get attacks just before or during my menstruation, but since I know when they come I am more prepared. They are shorter and more easy to medicate against. Are there any women out there who identify? Most importantly. Have I found my family? Please answer. Asa
