I don't know about you, but I remember pregnancy itself puts a lot of stress on the bladder. If you add copious amounts of water into the scene, it may be unbearable for you. And would you be robbing Baby of nutrients? Would you be washing out your system too much for Baby? Wise to check with your doc before you try it.
Ice is what has kept my husband's pain down to a dull roar, on the back of the neck or directly on the pain. Those gel-filled packs are wonderful. Wrap one in a tea towel if the cold is too much at first.
As to the O2, maybe you're not catching the attacks early enough?
