Don, that's quite a list of drugs you are taking.
Beware of interactions, especially Esgic may reduce the the effectiveness of Covera and Prednisone, as the drkoop drug checker shows:

Interaction between Covera-HS (generic: verapamil) and Esgic (generic: APAP/butalbital/caffeine):
Some barbiturates may increase the first-pass metabolism of verapamil, resulting in decreased serum levels and effectiveness.

Interaction between prednisone and Esgic (generic: APAP/butalbital/caffeine):
Barbiturates may induce the hepatic metabolism of corticosteroids, possibly reducing their therapeutic efficacy. During concomitant therapy, some patients may require increased corticosteroid dosage.

As to Amerge: It keeps off attacks for about 6 hours, so you are likely get another one after this time. This has nothing to with rebound, see my post 2 threads above.
But try to spread out the Amerge more evenly, taking half a tablet every 6 hours.
