Hi Don, I don't know how old you are, or how long you have suffered with CH. I am 65 yrs. of age and have been afflicted with CH since the age of 21. My experience is that the remission period gets longer. It has been 3 years since I last had an attack; I am in an active period now. I am into my fourth week of pain. Last night I was awoken about 1 hr. after going to bed and the pain was unbearable, it has stayed with me right through the night and all day I have had a residule ache. The intensity of pain is unbelievable, however, from past experience, I believe that I am going back into remission. The pain always reaches a peak of excrutiating intensity before remission ... I believe that is where I am now. Incidently, the only medication I take is over the counter stuff (Asprin based).
Hang in there my friend ... you will soon be back in remission and free of the pain for another 4 years. Seeing as there is no cure for CH, that's something to look forward to. Remember you are not alone ... you have lots of friends here on this site.
