Somebody please correct me if I am wrong. But I thought the maximum dose of prednisone was 60 mg a day (except possibly in extreme cases or if the patient weighs a good bit more than average.)
When I suggested I would continue the prednisone for a while I though you meant a normal amount over a normal time span as Jayne and others have described it.
I thought we tried to gradually taper the medicine down so our bodies will start producing nermal amounts again (? or something like that - does anyone know why the tapering is so important?). And I also thought we start the tapering AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Please ask your pharmacist or another doctor about the safety of your medication. Your prescription just does not sound right to me.
