For real! I had my annual check-up tpday. you know ekg, chect x-ray, etc, etc.
When my Dr. and I were in his office he started asking me about how my headaches were doing. I told him great! Only 5 or 6 a day. It would be so great it i could have more than 6 Imitrex per month. "well, why can't you, he says" I have no idea if it's the Ins. or if it's the Pharmacy that says I can only have 6 per month. He gets on the phone and my Dr. who is always soft-spoken and calm calls my pharmacist and is yelling at him to provide him an answer. He says, "I have just checked my PDR, and there is nothing to prevent her from having as much as she can get. So what the hell is the hang-up? This woman has certainly more H.A.s per month than 6, and i want an answer!!!!!" Long pause. Well whenever she comes in to re-fill her prescription, she will ask you one question and I expect you to answer it. How many others are getting Imitrex more than once a month?" When he hung up on the pharmacist, he turned to me, all calm again and said..."I tried". If he hadn't just completed a physical on me, I would have kissed him. This is what Doctors should do. TRY!!! I know they can't fight City Hall, but they can try. He also told me he would totally back me up if I try to get State Disability. He said, there is no way you can work, you have been diagnosed by the best(Dr. Kudrow) and I have seen you for 13 years now. Go for it!!! Thanks for listening, if you still are? I am really stoked about all of this today. It even made the several H.A.'s I've had a piece of cake..well, almost. Linda Howell
