HCl, as expalined in another post under this thread, means Hydrochloride, as in the association of Hydrogen and Cholrine. It is utilized in some drugs, more than some may think, with the purpose of making a salt out of it. Therefore, the drug is more water-soluble, and hopefully either more readily absorbed, more quantities are absorbed, or both.
Yes, Morphine*HCl is the salt derivative of morphine, "the real thing", just more easily absorbed by the body.
