there is a LOT we can do to reduce the perceived pain and mitigate extreme disruptions of lifestyle
none of them are mysterious or complicated
just involves discovering ways to "trick" your mind into being occupied by something else during an attack -
work on the idea that pain is not real (a truism)
it is a mental perception created as a warning that something is wrong
well, in CH we KNOW nothing is "wrong"
the pain is a liar
the solution is to find ways to ignore it because it IS a liar,
it's really that simple
BUT it isn't easy
it IS a lot of work - both to practice & understand and to apply but it PAYS
it works sufficiently to completely "relieve" minor attacks,
reduce moderate attacks to tolerability,
and survive really serious attacks with a lot more energy and mental stability left when they are over
