I'm a chronic cluster headache sufferer. I also have the infortunate side affect of right side paralysis after having a headache, along with some speech sluring and "dullness" of thought. I have run the gamut of medicines and alternative treatments and am on topamax right now, along with a combination of depakote and verapamil. I am under the care of top notch specialists at a nationally known headache center and research hospital, but I think they are getting perplexed with my situation. Prednisone tapers work to break the cycle, but how often can I rely on that? Oxygen hasn't helped. Meanwhile I pace while I have my headache, until the right side weakness takes over and all I can do is lie down where I land and scream--not pleasant, but I am so glad to have found a group of people that will understand.
