The question as to whether CH is a mental or physical condition can be resolved with the answer that it is both.
The answer is possible in the same way that quantum physics allows light to be both particles (matter) and wave (energy), but not at the same time. Both states are true, but only because the perspective of the subject must change to see each state.
This leads us to accepting a dualistic approach to understanding CH, both of which are correct at the same time under different circumstances.
