But you have to understand the way the human body works. It is incredibly intelligent in itself. Say I take some ibuprofen for a normal headache. It works. So I get another headache, and then another and another so that I'm getting them all the time. Well, I keep taking the ibuprofen but pretty soon I notice that it isn't taking my headaches away. Here is what I think happens:
We know that pain is used as a message to the brain that some part of our body has a problem. The brain reacts by sending out it's own messengers to the site to access the damage which is then relayed to the brain so that it can be dealt with. Now, if you introduce this ibuprofen to the pain site the messengers get there and say "Hey false alarm" and head back to the brain. Then the headache comes back and the messengers are sent out again and the same thing happens - "false alarm" and they go back to the brain. After a while, the brain gets tired of this happening and sends out the "James Bond" messenger to figure out what the hell is happening. He of course uncovers the ibuprofen sneeking around and divises a plan to render the anti-inflammatory useless.
So there you have it. Unfortunately, now the brain is left trying to uncover the original cause of the pain, the traces of which have been messed up by the ibuprofen.:)
